Davo Photographic

Run by a photographer with a sense of humor, the studio relied heavily on a hastily-constructed, readymade metal loft for workspace and inadequate shop washrooms for model changing rooms. Work-loft, digital darkroom, washroom-model prep rooms, and client lounge areas were all reworked. Many pieces of custom furniture were designed and assembled in-house. A curved “lightwall” with CNC-cut ribs houses the digital darkroom. A “folded” bar –– mezzanine cladding appears to fold down and become a long bar-height table –– exists in the client area.

Designed while at M1/dtw, directed by Christian Unverzagt.
